About Quilts for Care Leavers

Quilts for Care Leavers is a collective of patchworkers and quilters gifting handmade quilts to young people aged 18-25 leaving the state care system.  The idea is to make (or contribute to making) a quilt that can be presented as a personal gift to a young person on the day they leave Care (foster placement or Children’s Home), to act as a kind of ‘quilted hug’ that they can wrap around themselves if they ever feel lonely.
