ℹ️ The Link Newtownards are looking for a several categories of volunteers.

About The Link Family & Community Centre

The Link works with vulnerable and at risk individuals, many of whom experience deprivation, exclusion or loneliness.

They provide a range of facilities, programmes and support for:

  • young people;
  • older people;
  • children and young parents;
  • migrant workers;
  • people experiencing chronic addiction to alcohol; and
  • churches and community groups wishing to engage in community and good relations work.

It is their vision to see vibrant, connected families and communities where individuals have opportunities to reach their full potential.

Appeal

The volunteering opportunities available are:

The MARC drop-in (a drop-in for those who experience substance misuse issues)

❓ Two kitchen helpers  for Thursday, and one for Friday.

⌚ Required from 10.00am to 1.00pm 

The Link Charity Shop

❓ General shop duties selling mainly furniture, books and DVD’s CD’s etc.

⌚ Monday to Saturday, shifts available from 9.30am to 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 4.30pm.

❓ Van Helpers, including drivers

⌚ Tuesday and Thursday morning.

Helpers must be capable of lifting furniture. e.g. sofas, wardrobes, tables etc.

LYFE (Link Youth For Everyone)

❓Maximum of three volunteers. This would be to cover detached provision within the local area.

⌚ Tuesdays 3.00pm to 4.00pm 

Thursdays 8.00pm to 9.00pm

ASD provision 

Thursday 3.30pm to 4.30pm

General drop-ins 

Monday and Wednesdays 3.30pm to 5.oopm

Tuesdays 4.00pm to 6.00pm

Thursdays 5.00pm to 8.00pm.
