Sophie Hilditch – Member in Focus #12

This week we speak to Sophie Hilditch for our #memberinfocus feature: “The Challenges and Opportunities of 2020”.
Q1. If you could describe the year 2020 in one word, what would it be?
Changing.
Q2. What was happening in your life when the pandemic struck?
Decisions for future plans and the direction I was going next.
Q3. Why and when did you decide to get involved with community-based support?
I have an interest and passion for helping others – eager to make changes, support each other and do my part for those who, at times, need a little extra help. Once this (Community Calling) took off it was lovely seeing others with the same vision and passion. There are times when it’s difficult – helping each other out and knowing there are other people out there is important. I’d hope that if my family or loved ones where stuck that there would be someone around to help.
Q4. What is the biggest challenge you have faced since the world went into lockdown?
What’s the next step… the decisions around careers, educational plans and helping the family.
Q5. Are you excited about any opportunities that have arisen this year?
How some elements have changed and new ways to approach things and rethinking the next steps hopefully to achieve new ideas.
Q6. How are things looking for the remainder of 2020?
Unknown in some situations but I have the drive and passion to keep going and go out of my comfort zone – to try and experience new ideas.
