Money Guiders NI – Member in Focus #55
Interview with Eileen Bell from Money Guiders NI.
Tell us a bit about yourself and/or your organisation.
Money Guiders NI Network is funded by MaPS and managed by RinP. We aim to create a network of individual practitioners who deliver non regulated guidance as part of their role. The goal of the program is to ensure that people in the UK can find a good level of guidance wherever they go and practitioners feel supported in those discussions either by peers, MaPS or industry experts.
How well have you/your organisation adapted to the pandemic?
This has been the perfect time for the network to start as many practitioners are feeling isolated and satellites in their roles. We deliver our sessions online as is demanded from our various members although that can change as organisations relax.
As reopening begins and reality of the past year sets in for general public, practitioners time is in demand to deal with those ever pressing issues so sessions are focused and timed and introductions are made to speed up those processes.
What key needs are becoming apparent and/or are likely to arise this year?
Feedback from practitioners states that a debt crisis is emerging, illegal lending is on the increase and money guidance discussions are more frequent.
OFFER: What support are you currently offering and are you open to members of Community Network NI and/or the wider community making contact?
We offer safe space learning and discussion sessions on topics that you want to gain knowledge of. You will have the chance to contribute to the nationwide MaPS Money Guiders program for the future whilst gaining access to accredited learning and expert info sessions.
