Details
The ‘Belonging’ project is a folk music collaboration between Deepmoy Das, a singer from Kolkata, and Jason O’Rourke from Belfast.
There are six pieces, including songs in Bengali and Hindi and an instrumental. The project is presented as a documentary-style film. Deepmoy and Jason will be available on the call to answer questions after each piece of music.
We are inviting responses from the public, which will be shown on the website, so if anyone feels inspired by the music or by the theme, ‘belonging’, to write, paint, sing, dance – whatever, we’d be glad to facilitate it.
The project was funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
The event will take place online at 5 p.m. on 30th January.
Please RSVP to receive the link to attend.
